Client: NCOC
Location: Onshore & Offshore (A-Island / Kashagan)

At ISKER, we are proud to have been a part of the ENGINEERING, PROCUREMENT, FABRICATION, INSTALLATION AND COMMISSIONING FOR THE SOV REPLACEMENT AT A-ISLAND WELLHEADS project for our client, NCOC. This project was a true testament to our expertise and commitment to delivering outstanding results for our clients.
The A-Island wellhead unit consists of 8 wellheads, each with 3 annuli. The challenge was to upgrade the existing single side outlet valves (SOV) to meet the evolving industry and international standards. The proposed solution was to install a new SOV on all 8 wells of the A-Island.
Our team of experienced professionals worked tirelessly to deliver this project with the highest level of precision and accuracy. We utilized state-of-the-art 3D laser scanning technology to ensure that the existing nozzles, pipes, and structural steel were accurately captured and incorporated into the new design. With 1.5 years of preparation, engineering, procurement, and planning, our team was well-equipped to tackle the offshore execution during the 2021 shutdown.
We utilized 3 barges during the offshore operations, ensuring that all necessary resources were available to complete the project on time. The results speak for themselves - a timely completion that demonstrated our commitment to delivering exceptional results for our clients.
In addition, this project also provided valuable lessons learned that will continue to benefit our future projects. At ISKER, we strive to always improve and push the boundaries of what is possible, and this project was a true testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence.
We are proud to have been a part of this project and are confident that our commitment to delivering the best results possible will continue to be reflected in all of our future endeavors.
Additional Information
The A-Island wellhead unit consists of 8 Wellheads. Each well has 3 annuli (Inner ‘A’, Middle ‘B’ and Outer ‘C’ annulus).
A-Island wells are equipped with a single side outlet valve (SOV) on each side of annuli (A, B & C), which was compliant to venture standards at the beginning of Kashagan Experimental Phase (EP). In the meantime, the Industry, International and Venture standards have evolved and a single barrier SOV arrangement is non-compliant.
The proposed engineering solution is to install on all 8 wells of A-Island
