PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The onshore processing facility produces stabilised oil from the partially stabilised oil stream from the Kashagan offshore field. The main process units comprise inlet separation, dehydration, stabilisation and mercaptan removal.

The OPF includes:

— 3 oil trains, with a combined nominal capacity of 495,000 bopd (63,000 t/d),
— 2 gas plants with a combined nominal capacity of 620 MMscf/d (17.6 MMscm/d) raw gas, at 370,000 bopd (47,100 t/d) oil rate,
— rail marshalling and loading facilities for oil and sulphur and
— associated utility units.

Operations at the OPF involve high pressures and high H2S content, which are risks that need to be managed.
